Sarah Baur

Sarah Baur is a student research assistant for Professor Dr. Simone Pfenninger at the University of Zurich. She holds a BA in English Literature and Linguistics, which she completed with a thesis on rhoticity in northern England titled "A Shibboleth Upon the Northumbrian Tongue: Rhoticity and the Northumbrian Burr in Rural Northern English." Sarah is currently completing her MA in Digital Linguistics at the University of Zurich and is writing her MA thesis on alpha oscillations and speech inhibition in people with ADHD.

 

Her research interests lie in areas such as neurolinguistics, digital linguistics, and (second language) bilingualism. Furthermore, Sarah is interested in ongoing language change, especially in connection with digital natives and online spaces, as well as globalization and how continuous innovations in natural language processing affect our lives.
