Charlène Stieger

Charlène Stieger is a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Simone Pfenninger at the University of Zurich. She holds a B.A. in English Literature and Linguistics, which she completed with the thesis “Constructing Racial Narratives: An Analysis of Race Framing in Two UK Newspapers Post-Black Lives Matter”.

 

She is currently studying for a Master's degree in English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Zurich.

 

Charlène's research interests lie in the fields of sociolinguistics and bilingualism, which deal with the intersection of multiple identities and their influence on language use and perception. She is particularly interested in investigating the often stigmatized representation of marginalized groups of people and their language variants in different social contexts.
