Ronja Zimmermann is a student research assistant for Prof. Dr. Simone Pfenninger at the University of Zurich. She holds a BA in English Literature and Linguistics, which she completed with a thesis on the perception of English dialects and Afrikaans in South Africa, titled "Language Attitudes in South Africa: Matched-Guise Test with the Germanic Branch". Ronja is currently completing her MA in English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Zurich.

Her research interests lie in areas such as sociolinguistics, dialectology, and second language acquisition. Furthermore, Ronja is interested in the perception of different communities concerning language variations, and how this intersects with the intrinsic motivation to learn a language.
